A new allowance and privilege have been introduced for diplomats called up for military service, APA reports.
This is reflected in the newly proposed Articles 13.14-1 and 13.14-2 of the Law “On Diplomatic Service,” discussed today at a meeting of the International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties Committee of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, a diplomatic service employee whose service is terminated due to being called up for compulsory military or alternative service will be paid an allowance equal to three times their average monthly state salary.
Except in cases where the diplomatic service body is dissolved, persons who served in diplomatic positions before being called up for compulsory military service and apply to return to their previous diplomatic position no later than 60 calendar days after discharge from military service will be appointed to their previous or an equivalent position in that body.
