In the first half of this year, an increase was observed in the securities portfolio of Azerbaijani banks, APA-Economics reports, citing Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, compared to the end of 2024, the volume of the securities portfolio of banks increased by 6.2% or 584 million manats. Against the background of a faster growth rate of total assets, the share of securities in assets decreased from 17.7% to 17.5%.
During the reporting period, banks' investments in US government bonds increased significantly. Thus, investments in this direction increased by 1.13 billion manats or 80.6%.
At the same time, against the background of a decrease in mass issues by the Ministry of Finance, investments in the ministry's securities decreased by 347 million manats or 7.8% over the past 6 months.
