The Azerbaijani banking sector has made a voluntary commitment of 2 billion manats to transition to a green economy by 2030, which was announced during COP29, said Shahin Mahmudzadeh, Director General of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, on the opening day of the II Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW), APA-Economics reports.
He said that according to the latest statistics, local banks have issued about 13 thousand loans in connection with this activity, the volume of which was 300 million manats.
According to him, the green transition is a complex and long-term path. But the dynamics we have created today will have a long-term impact.
