On February 25, 2009, Azerdemiryolbank OSC Internal Audit Department found out that AZN 388.796, $30.478 and a package of pawned jewelleries were misappropriated in Shamakhy branch, the collected materials were submitted to Baku Prosecutor’s Office.
Criminal case was launched with regard to the officials of Shamakhy branch of Azerdemiryolbank OSC on Article 179.3.2 and Department to Combat Corruption was commissioned to carry out the investigation.
The investigation found out that director of Shamakhy branch of Azerdemiryolbank OSC Bayramov Tural Zakir abused his power and misappropriated a great deal of property.
Bayramov was director of Shamakhy branch of Azerdemiryolbank OSC from January 21, 2008 till March 2, 2009. During this period he formalized loans for individuals and embezzled AZN 413,483.
On March 30, Bayramov faced charges under Article 179.3.2 and was arrested.
