Two new subcommittees set up as part of EU-Azerbaijan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. In the framework of Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan, two new subcommittees have been set up, said Alan Waddams, EU representative in Baku.

According to him, one of the subcommittees will focus on social welfare, the second - on issues of justice and legal protection, trafficking, law and fight against drugs.
Azerbaijan and the EU signed the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement in 1999.

Under this agreement, EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation Council and Cooperation Committee was established. Currently, the Cooperation Committee has subcommittees on trade and investment issues and on energy, transport and the environment.
