Azerbaijan posts 35% rise in state budget spending

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. As against a year ago, Azerbaijanâ€™s state budget revenue increased by 2% to AZN 997.4 million and expenditure grew by 34.5% to AZN 241.5 million in January.
The State Statistical Committee said tax income came 45.1% from VAT, 34.3% from corporate profit tax, 8.5% from individual income tax, 2.2% from excise tax and 5.6% from foreign business activities.
Budget expenditure went 34.7% to social protection and social security, 9.5% to investment in economy and 4% to education.
Salary, pension benefits and allowances to the population accounted for 44.8% or AZN 108.3 million) of the spending.
