Azerbaijan Investment Company fires Executive Director

The meeting, presided by the Minister of Economic Development, reached a decision to replace Anar Akhundov with Afgan Isayev in this post.
Prior to this, Afgan Isayev, 35, had been deputy chairman of Bank of Baku.
He received bachelor (BS/BA) degree on “Finance and Economic” at Rutgers University in 1996 and MBA degree on MIS in 1998 at the same university.
He started his career in banking with American Express – one of the biggest financial institutions.
AIC is a state-owned joint stock company established in March 2006 by Azerbaijan President Aliyev, with an initial capitalization of 90 million Azerbaijani manats. The main purpose of AIC is to make equity investment, promote local and foreign direct investment and portfolio co-financing, within the non-oil economic sectors of Azerbaijan.
