Azerbaijan posts 2008 consolidated budget surplus at AZN 7.2 billion

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. The revenue and expenditure of Azerbaijanâ€™s 2008 consolidated budget were AZN 19 433 million and AZN 12 283.9 million, up 2.4 times and 66.2% respectively from a year earlier, said a government report.
According to the report, the year-end revenue exceeded the forecast by 11.3% while expenditure was 3.8% lower than the prediction in the consolidated budget plan.
The consolidated budget surplus exceeded the forecast by 52.4% to AZN 7 149.1 million.
Without the income of the State Oil Fund, the consolidated budget deficit reached AZN 4 715.5 million, down 13.6% from the forecast.
