Loan lending grew by 53% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. As of January 1, the total loan lending by Azerbaijan-based banks stood at AZN 7 163.3 million, up 53% on a year ago, said the State Statistical Committee.
Of this, 42.3% was lent by state-owned banks, 55.3% by private banks and 2.4% by non-bank lending institutions.
Long-term loans grew by 60.5% to AZN 4 867.4 million, accounting for 67.9% of the total lending.
The overdue loans reached AZN 159.8 million, making 2.2% of the loans lent.
