Economic Research Center says deflation was 1.54% in Azerbaijan in January

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA-Economics. Consumer Price Index dropped by 1.54 percent in Azerbaijan during January, said according to the Economic Research Centerâ€™s report based on the Alternative Inflation Methodology Development Project.
According to the report, the deflation was 2.31 percent in foodstuffs, 0.77 percent in nonfoods and 0.49 percent in services.
The price drop was 2.06 percent in Baku and 1.04 percent in regions.
The USAIDâ€™s Alternative Inflation Methodology Development in Azerbaijan Program was launched in 2007. The program is now supported by the Open Society Institute â€“ Budapest.
