AtaSighorta more than doubles profit in 2008

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaiajn-based AtaSighorta earned AZN 3.6 million in premiums during 2008, down 12% on a year ago.
The company said payment for insurance claims fell 7.5% to AZN 690 000.
The companyâ€™s assets grew 29% to AZN 6.135 million and investment portfolio increased 34.9% to AZN 4.925 million.
Revenue for 2008 reached AZN 5.6 million and expenditures AZN 3.9 million. Profit jumped 2.3 times to AZN 1.2 million.
AtaSighorta, as part of AtaHolding Group, has been in operation since 2004.
As at January 1, its authorized capital stood at AZN 2 million. It provides 31 voluntary and 4 compulsory types of insurance services.
