Azerbaijan reports a 59% rise in lending to individual and legal bodies

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. As at December 1, 2008, loans that were lent to individuals and legal entities stood at AZN 6.9 billion, up 58.6% or AZN 2.5 billion on a year ago.
The State Statistical Committee said loans were lent by state banks (43.7%), private banks (53.8%) and non-bank lending institutions (2.5%).
Of this, 69.2% was long-term loans.
Overdue loans reached AZN 145.3 million, accounting for 2.1% of the loans in total.
