UniLeasing posts 55% rise in leasing portfolio

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. As of January 1, Azerbaijan-based UniLeasing Company posted its leasing portfolio at AZN 46.2 million, up 54.5% on a year ago. The company said the leasing portfolio for provinces grew by 2.5 times to AZN 7.5 million.
The company concluded $28.3 million worth of 377 leasing contracts in 2008, brining the total number of leasing contracts to 750.
The funds mostly went to auto leasing, production, trade, transportation, medicine, construction and construction materials related project.
UniLeasing has regional branches in Gandja, Lenkeran, Sheki, Guba and Saatli.
UniLeasing, owned by UniBank, has been in operation since 2004. As of January 1, its authorized capital stood at AZN 1.8 million.
