Azerbaijan to develop mechanisms to support microfinance institutions

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan Micro-Finance Association held a presentation on the outcomes of a project called â€œEvaluation of the social activities of the microfinance institutions and the impact of microfinance in Azerbaijanâ€.
Jala Hajiyeva, CEO of AMFA, said the purpose of the project was to assess the impact of microfinance on households, businesses and individuals, as well as comparing repeat customers with the new ones.
Recommendations and proposals were prepared on the basis of the survey.
According to her, the proposals cover the development of mechanisms to support microfinance organizations through the State Oil Fund, development of benefits package for the micro-credits to agriculture, and establishment of a database of sustainable microfinance.
