Rufat Aslanly: Creation of stock indices is not primary objective in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayeva â€“ APA-Economics. The State Committee on Securities doesnâ€™t view the creation of stock indices as its primary objective, said Rufat Aslanly, Chairman of the Committee.
â€œWe can start calculate a index in the case of revitalization of the stock market but the index should give a signal to investors,â€ he added.
From December 1, 2008, APA-Economics independently launched AGBI (Azerbaijan Government Bonds Index) for short-term government bonds issued by the Ministry of Finance and ANBDI (Azerbaijan National Banks Debts Index) for short-term notes issued by the National Bank of Azerbaijan.
