Gunay Anadolu doubles insurance premiums in 2008

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based Gunay Anadolu Insurance Company earned AZN 2.280 million in premiums during 2008, up 2.2 times on a year ago.
The company said it paid AZN 172 929 for insurance claims, down 66.2% year-on-year.
Premiums most came from property insurance (AZN 1.231 million) while insurance claims most made in motor insurance (AZN 52 000) and medical insurance (AZN 30 871).
The companyâ€™s profit was AZN 10 000. Gunay Anadolu Azeri-Turkish Joint Venture has been in operation since 1992.
As of October 1, the companyâ€™s authorize capital stood at AZN 806 502.
The insurer provides 2 compulsory and 18 voluntary types of insurance services.
