AzAL Sighorta posts a 31 fold decline in insurance claims

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based AzAL Sighorta Insurance Company earned AZN 13.48 million in premiums during 2008, up 0.6% on a year ago.
The company said it paid AZN 26 681 for insurance claims, down 31 times year-on-year.
Premiums most came from aircraft insurance (AZN 6.901 million) and third-party civil liability insurance (AZN 5.377 million) while insurance claims most made in third-party civil liability insurance (AZN 20 243) and aircraft insurance (AZN 6 438).
Owned by Azerbaijan Airlines (AzAL), AzAL Sighorta has been in operation since 1995.
As of January 1, its authorized capital stood at AZN 1 million. It provides 12 voluntary and 2 compulsory types of insurance services.
