Personal deposits account for 18% of bank liabilities in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As at December 1, personal deposits in Azerbaijan-based commercial banks accounted for 18.2 percent of liabilities, down 4.1 percentage points on a year ago, said the National Bank of Azerbaijan.
The ratio stood at 21.8 percent early this year. This shows the trust of the population in the banking system.
However, at the same time, this decline is an indicator of the fact that the assts growth rate exceeds deposit growth rate.
The ratio is considered normal at not below 30% because deposits provide long-term resources to banks.
