UniBank gets 68% rise in assets

Baku. Elnur Huseynquluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Unibank CB has done the financial summary on the past eight months of 2008 to find the stable growth of all the key parameters in comparison with January-August 2007.
The assets of the Bank have reached AZN 494,401 mn since the beginning of this year representing an increase by 67.9% from August 2007 and by 26.9% from 1 January 2008.
The credit portfolio of the Bank has amounted to AZN 360,338 mn thanks to the annual growth by 84%, and was 31.4% up on 1 January 2008.
The deposits that the Bank had attracted by 30 August 2008 totalled at AZN 134,765 mn representing the increases by 30% from last year and by 9% from the beginning of 2008.
The incomes of the Bank equalled AZN 52,984 thousand by the end of August 2008 being 108.5% up on the corresponding period of last year, while the expenses of the Bank had grown by 120% in one year and equalled AZN 46,370 thousand. The balance profits of the Bank equalled AZN 6,614 thousand representing an increase by 52.4% from the corresponding period of 2007.
UniBank operates 18 branches, 52 ATMs and 253 POS-terminals across the country.
UniBank is owned by the EBRD (15.15%), DEG Investment Corporation (8.33%), legal entities (0.9%) and individuals (75.62%).
