Russia is ready for peace talks with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
He said he sees no reason to move away from the Istanbul agreements.
Putin cited the Istanbul and Anchorage principles, the realities on the ground, and his speech at the Foreign Ministry in 2024 as Russia's position for negotiations.
He stressed that Ukraine's air attacks against Russia cannot affect the situation on the front line because Russian forces are liberating settlements one after another.
“Kyiv is only trying to create the impression of a strong negotiating position. The realities on the battlefield are completely different,” he said.
