Baku to host Orientation on the ADB Accountability Mechanism in Baku

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. An "Orientation on the Asian Development Bankâ€™s Accountability Mechanism: Consultation Phase and Compliance Review Phase" will take place in Baku on 12 September.
The ADB Office in Baku said as part of efforts to brief the stakeholders on the Accountability Mechanism and to familiarize them with the procedures for accessing the OSPF and the CRP, such orientation sessions are periodically conducted in the borrowing countries, bringing together government officials, implementing agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations and the private sector for discussions.
The ADB established in 2003 an Accountability Mechanism which is intended to provide an independent forum where people adversely affected by ADB-assisted projects can voice and seek solutions to their problems and also report alleged violations of ADBâ€™s operational policies and procedures. The Accountability Mechanism has both a problem solving phase, undertaken by the Office of the Special Project Facilitator (OSPF), and a compliance review phase undertaken by the Compliance Review Panel (CRP).
The orientation will include a presentation of 45 minutes followed by a question and answer session.
