Russia is ready to resume negotiations with Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a roundtable meeting of ambassadors dedicated to the situation surrounding Ukraine, APA reports.

“Russia, as always, is ready to talk with Kyiv. We are ready to resume negotiations with the Ukrainian side at any time from the point where they were stopped,” Lavrov stressed.

According to the minister, European countries are rejecting opportunities for equal negotiations on Ukraine and are seeking Russia's capitulation:

“At present, any opportunity for equal negotiations is being rejected by Brussels bureaucrats and their partners in Berlin, Paris, and London. They want Russia to capitulate and accept Ukraine being absorbed either by NATO or the European Union".

Lavrov noted that the policies of European elites will not prevent Russia from achieving the objectives of its military operation in Ukraine: “Despite all attempts by European elites and their supporters in Kyiv, all goals and objectives of the special military operation will be fulfilled."

He also emphasized the importance of ensuring Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned, and non-nuclear status: “Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned, and non-nuclear status must be ensured in practice. This status is enshrined in its Declaration of Independence, and all states, including Russia, recognized Ukraine precisely with this status."
