Georgian PM: PACE has completely discredited itself

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has completely discredited itself, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in a statement to journalists, APA's local bureau reports.

According to him, PACE resolutions are unfair and Georgian society no longer reacts to them.

“The issues included in the resolutions are completely absurd. Georgia is a leading democratic country. This is the reality, while the remaining points in the resolution are of no interest to anyone,” Kobakhidze added.

It should be noted that PACE will consider a report on Georgia during its summer plenary session. A draft resolution prepared on the basis of the document states that democratic backsliding, as well as pressure on civil society and the political opposition, continues in Georgia.
