Azerbaijan-based banks post 31% rise in total assets

Baku. Vuqar Mustafayev – APA-Economics. As of August 1, the total assets owned by Azerbaijan-based banks stood at AZN 8 811.53 million, up 31.01% on January 1.
The National Bank of Azerbaijan said cash assets rose 14.71% to AZN 327.95 million, funds in correspondent accounts increased 8.96% to AZN 753.32 million, loan and deposits to finance sector went up 29.32% to AZN 371.48 million, loans lent to customers increased 38.67% to AZN 6 093.39 million and investments rose 20.44% to AZN 568.85 million.
In the structure of the liabilities, the payables went up 31.12% to AZN 7 379.02 million, including deposits rose 15.73% to AZN 3 978 million and loans and deposits from the finance sector rose 44.15% to AZN 3 479.53.
The total capitalization rose 30.45% to AZN 1 432.51 million.
