Ambassador: â€œWe want to increase the economic relation between Azerbaijan and Serbia to political relationsâ€™ levelâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Serbia intends to extend current economic relations with Azerbaijan, said the Serbian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zoran Vajovic.

According to him, near 15 Serbian companies participate in the 18th WorldFood Azerbaijan-2012: â€œGenerally, Serbia intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the spheres such as agriculture, agro business, ICT, pharmacology and tourism to develop current economic relationsâ€.

He said that, political relations were higher than economic relations and noted that Serbia intends to increase economic relations to political relationsâ€™ level: â€œEconomic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia developed sufficiently during past 2 years. But the trade turnover is not at the level as wished. These countries have great potential in this sphereâ€.

Reminding Azerbaijanâ€™s credit allocation to construction of highway in Serbia and participation of Azvirt Company in the construction of road Vajovic noted that, construction of motor road started in April: â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s credit for this project wil increase trade turnoverâ€.

Note that, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Serbia made $ 2,772,300 in 2011.
