Azerbaijan sees 36% growth in bank deposits

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of May 1, 2011, the total amount of deposits in banks stood at AZN 5,585.4 million, up 21.1% or AZN 972.6 mln on a year earlier. However, AZN 136.6 mln or 2.5%-growth was observed in deposits, during January-April, 2011.

According to CBA, the household deposits made AZN 3,358.7 mln, non-financing organizationsâ€™ deposits stood at AZN 2,226.7 mln. The share of individuals in structure of the deposits makes 60.1%.

Populationâ€™s deposits rose AZN 884 mln or 35.7% year-on-year, legal entitiesâ€™ deposits increased by 88.7%. As you see, 91% of total depositsâ€™ growth concerned to individualsâ€™ deposits.
