Azerbaijanâ€™s budget surplus rises 13%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s state budget revenue was AZN 5 734.2 mln in January-July, 2010, up 0.5% from a year ago, said the State Statistical Committee.

According to the report, the budget expenditure reached AZN 5 244.1 mln, down 1.05% from a year ago. Budget surplus made AZN 490.1 million, accounting for 2.1% of GDP. Budget surplus is up 13.2% from a year ago. Expenditure went AZN 1 994.1 mln (38%) to development of the national economy, AZN 719 mln (13.7%) to social protection and security and AZN 903.7 mln (17.2%) to education and healthcare.

Tax incomes came 36.8% from VAT, 32.2% from profit tax, 11.2% from income tax, 8.1% from excise tax and 5.4% from foreign economic tax.

Salaries earned by the population accounted for 33.6% (AZN 1 760.2 mln) of the total expenditure.
