The United States has imposed visa restrictions on 21 Colombian and 40 Bolivian citizens under the pretext of combating corruption and drug trafficking, said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, distributed by the State Department press service, APA reports.
"These measures target foreign nationals who, through corruption and drug trafficking, have undermined democratically elected governments in our hemisphere, regardless of their political affiliation," the US Secretary of State said.
According to the information provided in the statement, the restrictive measures apply to former officials, legislators, heads of energy companies and other individuals, as well as their family members.
