Azerbaijan sees 0.4% inflation in September

Baku. Vugar Israfilov – APA-Economics. Prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.4% on month in September, said Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the statistics, the prices are 2.1% lower during January-September as against the same period a year ago.

In September, prices of foodstuff increased by 0.4%, non-foods by 0.1% and services by 0.4%.

As Against a year ago, prices of foodstuffs fell by 0.4%, non-foods by 4.3% while prices of services increased by 6.4% during January-September.

The government predicts single-digit inflation in the face of global financial crisis. However, some experts claim the country might see deflation at the year-end after liquidity wrung out in the trade and service sectors.
