Azerbaijan may host a regional financial center

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan is expected to host a regional international financial center, said Jahangir Hajiyev, chairman of International Bank of Azerbaijan.

Jahangir Hajiyev who is also the vice-president of CIS Financial-Banking Council added that there are plans to set up such centers in several CIS member states.

"There is no specific plan to establish a regional international financial center in Baku, but this is a probable option because Azerbaijanâ€™s bank system is one of the most buoyant one in the CIS area,â€ he added.

Similar centers will be opened in Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Moscow (Russia).
