Khagani Abdullayev: Azerbaijan’s banking system to make profit for 2009

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijanâ€™s banking system is expected to have a profit at this year-end, said Khagani Abdullayev, the general director of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to him, currently the country’s banks’ return on equity (ROE) is 20%, return on assets (ROA) is 30%.

"In general, the capitalization is our priority area. Given that the capital adequacy requirement is 12%, the actual rate is 19.6% now,â€ he added.
