International Bank of Azerbaijan to get large foreign loan for the construction sector

Baku. Elnur Guseynguluev - APA-ECONOMICS. International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) will get $100 million in total from Eximbank (USA) and OPIC (USA).

Jahangir Hajiyev, chairman of the bank, said that the parties have already signed an agreement for the loan.

He added that proceeds of the 12-year loan will be used to finance the construction of unfinished buildings in Azerbaijan.

As Azerbaijanâ€™s and the regionâ€™s largest bank, the International Bank of Azerbaijan with a governmentâ€™s 50.2% stake is owned by the bank staff (10%) and private shareholders (40%).
The bank operates 37 branches across the country.
