BakÄ± â€“ APA-Economics. The broader-based Group of 20 is expected to replace the Group of Seven as the world’s economic forum, a White House release said (UPI).
President Barack Obama was to announce the shift Friday at G20 economic summit in Pittsburgh, a fact sheet released by the White House said.
The decision "brings to the table the countries needed to build a stronger, more balanced global economy, reform the financial system and lift the lives of the poorest," the document said.
