Azerbaijan sees 13% rise in populationâ€™s savings

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of August 1, deposits put in Azerbaiajn-based banks reached AZN 1 999.3 million, up 13.2% from a year ago, said the State Statistical Committee.

According to the statistics, 35.4% of deposits are held in the home currency (manat) and 64.6% in foreign currencies, especially dollar.

74.4% of deposits are in privately owned banks.
