Azerbaijan reports a 14% rise in lending to individual and legal bodies

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. As at August 1, 2009, loans that were lent to individuals and legal entities stood at AZN 7.2 billion, up 13.6% or AZN 867.8 million on a year ago.
The State Statistical Committee said loans were lent by state banks (45.6%), private banks (51.9%) and non-bank lending institutions (2.5%).
Of this, 70.7% was long-term loans.
Overdue loans accounted for 3.6% of the loans in total.
