US Fed leaves key rate at record low

Bakuâ€“ APA-Economics. The official interest rate in the US is being kept at record low after the Federal Reserve said the economy was showing signs of levelling out, ABC reported.
After its two-day meeting the Federal Reserve announced it would keep the official rate at between 0 and 0.25 per cent.
It said it would remain there for an extended period of time because the economy is expected to remain weak.
But the board offered some hope of improvement, suggesting the economy was levelling out.
That more upbeat assessment gave life to the markets, with the Dow Jones jumping 120 points to end the day at 9,362.
