Baku Stock Exchange posts 47% drop in 1H09 turnover

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The total volume of transactions for the period of January-July 2009 for all securities traded in Baku Stock Exchange was AZN 2 659.38 mln.
The overall corporate securities market increased by 89.68%. Meanwhile, the secondary market of corporate bonds increased for more than 3.6 times.
The highest growth rate was observed in the secondary market of equities, which jumped by 200 times. However the primary market of equities increased by 75.06%.
There is an increase in trading activity of primary and secondary markets of Government Bonds, â€™for 1.6 and 5.5 times, respectively.
