Azerbaijanâ€™s banking system sees ROA drop in Q2

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Return on Assets (ROA) stood at 3.1% for the first half 2009 in Azerbaijanâ€™s banking sector, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The figure was 0.4 percentage points higher on a year ago and 0.9 percentage points on the 2008 yearend figure. However, the ROA ratio dropped 0.2 percentage points from the first quarter this year.

This gives us the ratio to find how much a bank derives from each amount of assets they control. This also displays how a bank is managed.

That is to say, banks derive 3.1 kopecks from each manat of assets.
By world practice, ROA is satisfactory in Azerbaijanâ€™s banking sector.
