State Committee for Securities holds a meeting

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s State Committee for Securities has held a meeting on the results of the first half of 2009.

The chairman of SCS Rufat Aslanly said despite the global economic crisis, Azerbaijan is one of the few countries with high economic growth maintained.
The research and market development officer Natig Mustafayev held a presenation on the main development on the international and local markets, projections for the second half of 2009 and 2010 and other issues.

It was also noted that despite a drop in government securities in the first half of this year, the market saw the uptrend of corporate securities, exceeding the overall growth of economic and financial sectors - the stock market grew by 24.4% and transactions on corporate bonds jumped by 2.3-fold.

Moreover, there was a 240-fold leap in stock exchange trading.
