Azerbaijan’s 1H09 trade gap with CIS countries hits $114 million

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade with Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) [a group of former soviet nations] gave a trade gap worth $114 431 100 during January-June. However, the country posted foreign trade surplus with faraway nations at $3 207 150 200, said the State Customs Committee.

The exports to faraway nations totalled $5 097 853 200, exports to CIS states made $713 748 200, and imports amounted to $1 890 703 000 and $828 179 300 respectively.

Azerbaijan most exported oil and oil products, minerals, sugar, grease and vegetable oil and fruits.

The imports mainly included grains and cereals, vehicles, ferrous metals, electronic machines and spare parts.
