Annual inflation drops to 4.9% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Prices of consumer goods and services dropped by 0.2% in May on month-on-month basis, said Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee.

According to statistics, prices of foodstuffs fell by 0.4%, non-foods by 0.3% while price of services remained steady.

As compared to January-April 2008, prices of consumer goods and services dropped by 4.9%. On year-on-year basis, prices of foodstuffs increased by 3.8%, nonfood by 6.4% and price of services increased by 5.8%.
