Kapital Bank unveils its new processing system

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based Kapital Bank has today held a presentation of its new processing system.

Rauf Rzayev, Chairman of the Bank, said that web infrastructure components and a new server were installed to align the bankâ€™s processing system with the requirements of VÄ°SA and MasterCard.

In his words, as part of the government programs (delivery of pension benefits, salary, loans to farmers and others), the bankâ€™s cardholders are near 2 million in number.

â€œWe decided to set up a new card processing center to improve customer services. Without any financial loss, migration from AzeriCard Processing System was completed successfully on May 5,â€ he added.

The new processing system capable of servicing 2.5 million cards, 550 ATMs, 5 000 POS terminals and 200 information kiosks was deployed by Russiaâ€™s Kompas in accordance with a contract awarded.

The new systemâ€™s capacity allows handling more than 60 card operations per second.

After the presentation, the bank awarded one millionth VISA cardholder a cash prize and a valuable gift.

Owned by Pasha Holding (97.5%) and the bank staff (2.5%), Kapital Bank has been in operation since 2000.

As of April 1, assets stood at AZN 341.534 million, deposit portfolio at AZN 174.914 million, loan portfolio at AZN 168.059 million, total capital at AZN 76.754 million and authorized capital stock at AZN 24 million.

It operates 89 branches, 312 ATMs and 480 POS terminals across the country.
