Azerbaijan industrial production index drops sharply

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s industrial production index (IPI), a measure of real production output, reached 92.91% in April, compared to 111.87% in March, according to APA-Economics calculations on data released by the State Statistical Committee.

This index accounts for the bulk of the variation in national output over the duration of business cycle, i.e. industrial output for April in value terms (AZN 1 399.9 million) divided by industrial output for March (AZN 1 506.7 million).

With inflation excluded, industrial production index changed as below during January-April.

The State Statistical Committee said AZN 5 577.3 million worth of industrial output and services were produced during January-April, up 0.5% on the same period last year.
