Loan lending rises by 26% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. As of April 1, loan lending reached AZN 6 221.3 million in Azerbaijan, up 26.1% on the first quarter of 2008.
The State Statistical Committee said private banks contributed 58.8% of loan lending, leaving 38.2% to the state sector and 2.9% to non-bank lending institutions.
66.7% of loans were long-term and 3.1% were overdue loans.
