Central Bank of Azerbaijan slashes issue of short-term notes

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan issued AZN 186.4 million worth of notes during January-April, down 75% from the same period last year.

The State Committee for Securities said trading transactions on notes fell by 61% to AZN 64.7 million.

At the same time, repo and reverse repo transactions on notes dropped by 16% to AZN 1.51 billion.

The secondary market amounted to AZN 1 795.9 million, 84.6% of which was repo and reverse repo transactions on notes.
