Central Bank of Azerbaijan posts 27% drop in external liabilities

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of May 1, Central Bank of Azerbaijan has posted its external liabilities at AZN 58 million, a 27.4% or AZN 21.9 million decline on a year ago.

According to statistics, external liabilities dropped by 10.6% or AZN 6.9 million during January-April 2009.

As of May 1, Central Bankâ€™s external assets reached AZN 4 165.6 million and external liabilities-external assets ratio was 1.39%, compared to 2.7% in the same month last year and 1.3% early this year.

With other foreign assets included, Central Bankâ€™s net external assets made AZN 4 105.7 million, down 10% or AZN 457.1 million decline from a year ago and a 19.7% or AZN 1 0007 million decline from January 1, 2009.
