Azerbaijan to trim down some tax rates

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. The Government of Azerbaijan plans to lower profit tax rate by at least 2 percentage points, said Natig Amirov, First Deputy Minister of Taxes.
“At the present amendments to the Tax Code are being considered. It is prposed to cut other tax, especially VAT rates. The revised draft will be submitted to Parliament before the May 15,†he added
If changes are adopted by Parliament, they will come into force on 1 January 2010.
Profit tax rate is 22% at present.
