Azerbaijan holds GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation Project meeting

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Baku has today hosted a meeting of the GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova) Trade and Transport Facilitation Project, bringing together customs and border service officials from the member states.

Asger Abdullayev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan State Customs Committee, said that the participants will seek ways of facilitating and streamlining trade and customs procedures among the states parties.

â€We are also focusing on the fight against smuggling, drug trafficking and arms trafficking, intellectual property protection, electronic declaration, data exchange and technical assistance,â€ he added.

The meeting will conclude with a protocol signed by the participants.

The participants visited the Martyrs Alley and Honor Cemetery before the meeting.
