Kapital Bank gets 11% drop in deposits

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. As of April 1, Azerbaijan-based capital Bank posted its assets at AZN 341.534 million, up 35.6% on a year ago.

The bank said deposit portfolio contracted by 11% to AZN 174.914 million while loan portfolio grew by 37.3% to AZN 168.059 million.

Consumer lending increased by 6.7% to AZN 62.266 million.

Total equity capital more than doubled to AZN 76.754 million and authorized capital stock remained unchanged at AZN 24 million.

As against last year, revenue rose by 88.2% to AZN 20.003 million and expenditure increased by 61% to AZN 13.174 million. Profit nearly tripled to AZN 6.829 million.

The bank established 1 bureau of exchange, 14 ATMs and 1 POS terminals across the country over the past year. Average salary increased by 8% to AZN 270 and the number of employees was 2 177.

Kapital Bank has been in operation since 2000. The bank operates 88 branches, 312 ATMs and 480 POS terminals at present.
After privatization, Kapital Bank is owned by AtaHolding (30%), Pasha Holding (30%), Khalg Sighorta (15%), Azersun Holding (10%), individuals (10%) and the bank staff (5%).
