Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. The total leasing portfolio, a sum of leasing transactions across the country, reached $208 million in Azerbaijan, said Elchin Ahmadov, President of Azerbaijan Leasing Companies Association.
“This figure is a 231-fold increase from the leasing portfolio of $900 000 in 2003. This figure shows the country’s leasing sector has great potential,†he added.
In his words, the leasing transactions mainly cover construction and transport sectors.
According to him, the leasing sector accounts for 0.43% of GDP.
